Neither you read wrongly nor I typed wrongly. Yes, Diapers Cake which is popular this few years as a center piece for Baby Shower. I came across this when I was planning a baby shower for a friend back in 2008. This cake which is not edible make a good center piece. For the past 2 years, I have seen a lot of attractive diapers cake and towels cake (mostly made for bridal shower or wedding gift) has been popping up.
I have made 2 diapers cakes so far for friends’ baby shower. It make a great gift because it can be a center piece, diapers – something that is definitely every infant needs. Then just use your creativity to decorate the cake, not with icing but with ribbons or whatever you think the mom & baby needs.
My first Diapers Cake made for He Jia’s Baby Shower which I organized in April 2008 barely a month of our return from Portugal then.
My 2nd Diapers Cake specially made for UC during her Baby Shower in Oct 2008.
Last weekend, we attended my boss’s wedding in Maryland. As usual, I had to think of what to gift I should get him. Well, it is different this time because he is the boss and he basically has everything, right? He does has a wedding registry but I find the items on the list is too overpriced and not practical in having them. I am pretty sure that list is created by his wife knowing that my boss is a very practical kind of person. Finally, I decided to assemble him a gift basket.
I decided not to use the traditional wicker basket as I think for younger generation, a wicker basket will just ended up in the attic storage. So, I went with a canvas storage bin and CK pick out the color. Basically you can see there are gift for the Groom and the Bride.
For the Groom : Plum Wine, 2 Wine Glasses & Chocolate
For the Bride : Body Lotion,Body Cream, Shower Gel (Forever Sunshine- new release from Bath & Body Works), Candle and Bath Sponge
For both of them : Bath Towel
After assembling the gift basket, I wrote little note of for each item :
Wine : So your marriage will always be JOYFUL
Chocolate : So your kisses may always be SWEET
Forever Sunshine : So you will always be the SUNSHINE in each others life
Towels : So you will always be able to lie on the beach in HAWAII (They are going there for honeymoon 
)
Candles : So, your hearts may always be WARM
I didn’t take the final product picture as I was in the rush. Well, I am a last minute person. So, I assemble the basket the night before after the kids went to bed and wrapped it with cellophane wrapper the next morning and finish it up with a red & pink sheer ribbon bow.I also prepared a homemade card to go with the gift.
